WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Following a four-and-a-half-hour rain delay, Saint Francis softball was unable to win the opening match against LIU, falling 13-4 on Saturday afternoon at the Red Flash Softball Field in Loretto, Pa. Junior Aliya Garroway broke the program record for the longest on-base streak.
FLASH MOMENTSÂ
While NEC rival LIU jumped out to an early four-run lead, the Red Flash got on the board when freshman Sophia Rabatin reached on a fielder's choice, allowing sophomore Morgan Pasternak to score from third, making it a 4-1 game.
In the following inning, Saint Francis added another run when senior Annabelle Farmer hit her eighth home run of the year to deep right center, cutting the deficit to 6-2.

Freshman Olivia Hood rounded out the scoring for Saint Francis, singling up the middle to tally her 36th hit of the season and scoring junior Lilly Hicks, which brought the final score to 13-4.
FLASHÂ NUGGETS
With her lead-off walk in the bottom of the first inning, Garroway extended her on-base streak to 32 straight games, the most of any player in program history since Jordan Seneca set the record in 2017 with 31 straight games.

Saint Francis Softball is back in action tomorrow, April 25, as they continue their three-game series against LIU with a senior day doubleheader starting at noon at the Red Flash Softball Field in Loretto, Pa.
