LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis men's soccer matched up with Chatham Saturday afternoon. The Red Wolves fell 2-1 to the Cougars.
The first 45 minutes saw plenty of back-and-forth action, with both teams trading possession and opportunities. Saint Francis' defense held strong throughout the half, keeping the Cougars off the scoreboard and sending the match into halftime scoreless.
The Cougars continued to look for an opening in the second half and, after several attempts, finally found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. Saint Francis responded just three minutes later, finding the equalizer to make it a 1-1 match. The Cougars answered with another goal to take the lead once again. Saint Francis looked for one more opportunity to even the score, but the final horn sounded with the Red Wolves falling 2-1.
Álvaro Planas recorded his first goal of the 2026 season.

Anthony Lajevic and
Japhy McGuinness each recorded one.
Brian Hegerty made his collegiate debut in goal Saturday afternoon and recorded eight saves.
The Red Wolves will be back in action Monday evening against Penn State Behrend in Erie, Pa. Kickoff will be at 4 p.m.
