SENIOR (2016-17) – Avuski went 21-6 overall in singles and combined with three different partners for a 15-8 record in doubles… In dual matches, Avuski was 14-4 in singles, playing at No. 3, 4 and 5 and went 13-4 in doubles… In the Fall, Avuski picked up three wins at the Bucknell Invite, advancing to his flight final, two wins at the Greater Cincinnati Invitational and two wins at the Rocket Invitational… Went 1-0 at No. 3 singles, 8-2 at No. 4 and 5-2 at No. 5 in dual matches… Paired with Eli Cerdan, Arturo Dell’eva and Jan Vit Suntar in doubles. Combined with Cerdan for an 11-3 record, including 9-2 at No. 3, Dell’eva for a 1-1 mark at No. 3 and Suntar for a 1-0 record at No. 2.
JUNIOR (2015-16) – Second Team All-NEC at No. 2 doubles... Went 19-8 in singles and 18-10 in doubles… 5-2 in singles and 2-3 in doubles in the Fall, competing at the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational, Bucknell Invite and Rocket Invite… Competed at No. 4 and 5 singles… Went 6-0 at No. 4 and 8-6 at No. 5, including 4-1 in NEC matches… Combined with Jan Vit Suntar in doubles, including a 16-7 mark in dual matches, with a 4-2 record in NEC contests.
SOPHOMORE (2014-15) – Ended the season with a 10-9 record in singles competition … paired up with teammate Lawson Barter for an 8-6 record in doubles play.
FRESHMAN (2013-14) – Finished his first season of action with 12 singles wins … registered a 2-0 record in the NEC … paired up with Lawson Barter for a 3-3 record in doubles play … earned NEC Rookie of the Month honors (10/1) … named to the NEC Second Team #6 Singles.
BEFORE SFU - Avuski started playing tennis when he was six years old and by the time he was 16 years old, he was ranked number four in the country. He was ranked number three at the age of 18. He trained at the Plovid Academy in Bulgaria as well as the Tenisval Academy in Spain. In 2011, he placed third in singles at the Bulgarian National Championships and placed second in doubles. He was a quaterfinaliast in the U18 Bulgarian Champonships and a finalist and two-time semifinalis at the Bulgarian National Junior Tournament. Avuski has also competed in the ATP professional tour as a qualifier and has advanced to the main draw of several futures events. In 2009, Avuski advanced to the semifinals of a qualifying futures event in Montréal. During the same year, he also won a qualifying futures event in Las Vegas and advanced to the semifinals in Spain. During the same year, Avuski also made it to the third round of a professional futures event in Bulgaria and Spain.
