SOPHOMORE (2017-18) – First Team All-NEC in Singles… Named NEC Player of the Week on April 17… Went 14-14 in singles and 16-9 in doubles this year… In dual matches, went 11-10 in singles, with all 11 wins coming at No. 1… Tied for third in the NEC in wins at No. 1 singles… Went 12-8 in dual match doubles, tying for the team lead in wins, combining with Sebastian Pinos for a 9-8 record at No. 2 and a 3-1 mark at No. 3… In NEC play, went 3-4 in singles and 4-3 in doubles.
FRESHMAN (2016-17) – NEC Rookie of the Year… First Team All-NEC… NEC All-Rookie Team… Luna went 22-6 in singles and combined with five different partners for a 13-10 record in doubles… Led NEC in singles wins, ranked third in the NEC in singles win percentage and led all players at No. 2 in win percentage… Went 15-3 in singles, playing all matches at No. 2, and 9-7 in doubles in dual matches… Owned a 5-0 record against NEC opponents in the regular season… Paired with Eli Cerdan, Arturo Dell’eva, Alec Dylan Foo-Kune, Jan Vit Suntar and Robin van der Heijden in doubles. Combined with Foo-Kune for a 4-1 record at No. 1, Suntar for a 3-1 mark at No. 2 and van der Heijden for a 2-2 record at No. 3.Â
BEFORE SFU - The Guatemala native joins the Red Flash after being the top ranked player in the country, both as a 16 year-old and an 18 year-old. He has an ITF ranking of 343 and was named National Tennis Player of the Year in 2014. Luna helped Guatemala to win a Davis Cup match against Uruguay and was a finalist in the National Davis Cup Playoff. Luna won his country’s National Open and won the doubles championship at the Copa Mundo Maya ITF G4 tournament, where he also was a semifinalist in singles.
