Played linebacker and safety at West Brook for Head Coach Kevin Flanigan… Led the Bruins to an 11-2 record, a school record for wins, and an appearance in the third round of the 6A state playoffs… Earned All-District honors… In 2016, recorded 115 tackles and six sacks… Joins running back Joel Denley as West Brook alums in the 2017 SFU signing class.
 
Defensive Coordinator Marco Pecora: "Melvin is coming to join the family all the way from Texas. We are extremely excited about him. He can play multiple positions for us on defense and can really run well for a kid his size. He has a tape full of tackles for loss and sacks and does not get blocked.
