JUNIOR (2011) – Started all 44 games in which she appeared … collected 42 hits in 146 at-bats for a .288 batting average … drove in 15 runs and scored 16 … picked up two extra-base hits (one double, one triple) … swiped eight bases on the year, with a season-high two coming versus Marist (3/13) … two sacrifice hits during her junior campaign … six multi-hit games, including a 5-for-5 performance with two runs batted in against UMBC (2/26) … had two separate eight-game hit streaks throughout the course of the season … knocked out three hits at Norfolk State (3/12) where she also lined a double, drove in two runs and scored one, and again in the first game at Bucknell (4/14) … legged out a triple versus Morgan State (3/20) … Capital One Academic All-District II first team selection.

SOPHOMORE (2010) – Finished third on team in hitting (.286) and was second with 36 hits in a breakout season for SFU … was second on team with 19 runs scored and six stolen bases … one of two players to start and play all 50 games … tied career high with three hits in four different games … ended season on a six-game hitting streak… was 2-for-3 with season-high two RBIs vs. Dayton (3/3) … went 3-for-3 with a run scored and two stolen bases against FDU (3/28) … was 3-for-5 with a run scored, a double and a stolen base vs. Akron (4/20) … was 3-for-4 with a career-tying three runs scored vs. Wagner (5/1) … went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored against Long Island (5/2).

FRESHMAN (2009) – Started in 28 of 41 games in 2009, hitting .224 with 19 runs scored, 3 RBIs, and 8 walks, while swiping 13 of 14 bases attempted stealing ... recorded first career hit and stolen base in collegiate debut against Seton?Hall (2/20) ... had first career multi-hit game with career-best 3 hits, 3 runs scored, 2 RBIs and 2 stolen bases against Detroit Mercy (3/6) ... went 2-for-3 with a walk and run scored versus Drexel (3/14).

BEFORE SFU – Lettered four years under head coach Shelley Monas at Edgewood (Ohio) High School, where she helped guide the Warriors to a 23-3 record, and to conference, district and regional titles ... she helped lead Edgewood to the state of Ohio’s Final Four ... McMellen was a first team all-Ohio honoree, as well as the team MVP, first team all-District and NEC Player-of-the-Year ... She hit .600 as a junior and stole 18 bases to go with a .982 fielding percentage ... McMellen also lettered four years in basketball and three years in volleyball ... she was an all-state honorable mention in basketball ... was the National Honor Society President.
