LORETTO, Pa. (Sept. 28, 2007) – The Saint Francis University field hockey team played arguably their best game of the season on at DeGol Field on Friday, but fell just short against Fairfield, dropping their ninth game of the season, 3-2.

The Red Flash offense clicked on all cylinders against the Stags, thanks mostly to sophomore Allison Severage (Garwood, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) (Garwood, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) who scored her first goal of the year while firing seven shots.

Junior Belen Albanes (Atlanta, Ga./Dunwoody) (Atlanta, Ga./Dunwoody) also scored for the Flash. The goal was her fourth of the season. Senior Annie Paccione (Red Hook, N.Y./Red Hook) (Red Hook, N.Y./Red Hook) was also a contributor to the SFU attack, firing two of the team's12 shots on goal.

Saint Francis opens their 2007 Northeast Conference schedule on Sunday as the welcome Siena for a noon contest.
