STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Oct. 9, 2009) – Traci Flick (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) netted her first goal of the season with less than two minutes to give the Saint Francis a 2-1 victory over the Wagner Seahawks on Friday afternoon in Staten Island, N.Y.
The Red Flash improve to 3-1 in the Northeast Conference and 6-4-2 overall.
The two teams played a scoreless game until Wagner's Kaitlyn Llewellyn scored off a of a pass from Brooke Keany to give the Seahawks a 1-0 lead ten minutes into the second half.
Rachael Seibert (Murrysville, Pa/Franklin Regional) (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) tied the game up with 18 minutes remaining, as her shot bounced off the crossbar and got past Wagner goalkeeper Sam Scheuschner.
With just one minute and 51 seconds left to play, Flick shot from ten yards out and the ball was deflected in to give the Red Flash their third NEC win.
Siebert had four of the team's ten shots, while Flick accounted for three. SFU had five shots on goal, but were out shot by Wagner 19-10 overall.
Senior goalkeeper Jessica Boyer (Pittsburgh, Pa/Mount Lebanon) (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) had ten saves for the Red Flash.
Saint Francis will remain in New York to play Long Island on Sunday afternoon in Brooklyn.
