HAMDEN, Conn. (Oct. 7, 2011) – The Saint Francis University men's soccer team fell in overtime 2-1 to Northeast Conference foe Quinnipiac Friday afternoon.
“This is a disappointing result. In a lot of ways today we were the better team but we didn't take our chances and make our second half dominance count on the scoreboard,” head coach
Michael Casper said. “We have to be better with our finishing and final quality on Sunday against CCSU to earn three points. I know we will come back focused and committed and be better on Sunday.”

th minute of the first half, freshman
Pablo Medina (Monterrey, Mexico/IMG Academies) put the Red Flash (5-5-1, 1-2) up by one goal early in the contest when he tallied his third goal of the season. Medina took a crossing pass from the left side of the field from classmate
Alex Hainault (Montreal, Quebec/Westwood) to the far post where Medina knocked it in past the Bobcats (4-4-0, 2-0) goalkeeper.
10 minutes later, Quinnipiac got on the board and tied the game at one when Philip Surprise notched his second goal of the season past SFU starting goalkeeper
Darius Motazed (North Vancouver, Canada/Sentinel Secondary).
With a scoreless second half, the Flash and Bobcats headed into overtime where just over a minute into the first overtime, Quinnipiac connected on a shot off the crossbar to give them the one-goal victory.
The Red Flash outshot the Bobcats 17-11 in the match, including 12 shots in the second half alone. Each goalkeeper made four saves in the game.
Saint Francis continues its Connecticut swing Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. when they face-off with Central Connecticut State in an NEC matchup.
