Immergrun challenges amateurs, experienced golfers


Area golfers are fortunate to be surrounded by some of the state's most challenging and picturesque courses to test their skills.

Nestled among the rolling hills of central Cambria County is a golf course that has been described as a “gem in the rough.”

Immergrun was constructed by the late Charles M. Schwab in 1917.  Schwab was the steel magnate who became a multimillionaire in the early 1900s and built his summer estate in Loretto.

The historic nine-hole course, which boasts raised greens, sloping fairways bordered by forests, ravines and traversed by streams, is a challenge for the amateur and experienced golfer.
