ITHICA, N.Y. – The Saint Francis University field hockey team fell to Cornell in non-conference actoin Sunday, 2-0
The Red Flash (1-6, 0-0) got the better of the chances outshooting the Big Red (3-3, 0-0) 13-5 but could not find the net. Cornell used two first half goals from Hannah Balleza to pick up the win. After giving up two goals in the first half on four shots Saint Francis picked up its defense and allowed just one shot on the goal. Alex Botte made eight saves in net for Cornell to earn the clean sheet.
Saint Francis returns to action Wednesday in a makeup game against in-state rival at Lock Haven at 6 p.m.
