Saint Francis welcomes the Quinnipiac University Bobcats to Loretto this afternoon as they continue their quest for the programs first conference championship. Last season in Hamden, Conn. the Red Flash suffered a 2-1 setback against the Bobcats in overtime. Today's game can be seen live on NEC Front Row.

Today marks the 15th meeting between these two schools with the Bobcats holding a slight advantage in the program series 7-6-1.

LAST TIME OUT...
Saint Francis picked up two critical points last weekend during the team's final regular season roadtrip of 2012 to Fairleigh Dickinson and Monmouth. The Red Flash came out of both contests with 0-0 ties through two overtime periods. Against FDU, the league's top team, neither keeper was tested until the 72nd minute of play.
Last Sunday the Monmouth defense held the Red Flash to a total of eight shots in the contest, five of which came in the second half alone. Despite the Hawks firing 15 shots of their own in the game, only three of them ended up on target and in dangerous territory.

PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS
As of the start of today's game, Saint Francis sits just two points behind Quinnipiac in the Northeast Conference standings for the final playoff spot. QU is holding onto the fourth spot with 13 points while SFU comes into the game with 11. In order to be able to qualify for postseason play, the Red Flash must first defeat the Bobcats this afternoon.

DANNY V'S GOALKEEPING
Starting SFU goalkeeper Daniel Valcicak (Herndon, Va./Gonzaga College) is having a senior season to remember after he posted his seventh shutout of the season last Sunday at Monmouth, giving him 12 for his collegiate career. Additionally, Valcicak is among the best keeper's in the nation as he is ranked among the top-25 in a multitude of categories. With a .733 goals against average Valcicak ranks 21st in the NCAA and is tied for fourth with an .857 save percentage.

SOCCERTOWN, PA
With a 7-1-0 record in Loretto last season, the Red Flash continued to roll on their home pitch. Since the 2010 season, the Flash men are 15-3-2 on campus. Combined, the men's and women's teams have compiled a 35-4-5 record at home over the past two seasons.

NEXT UP…
Saint Francis remains at home to conclude the 2012 regular season next weekend. The Flash welcome in LIU Brooklyn Friday and wrap up with Mount St. Mary's for senior day next Sunday Nov. 4. Times and locations are to be determined due to the women's soccer team hosting the NEC Championship.
Last season the Flash scored late in the second half in Brooklyn to push them past the LIU Blackbirds 1-0. Nick Kolarac (Pittsburgh, Pa./West Allegheny) tallied his first career game winner in the victory.
