BOX SCORE BOX SCORE

LORETTO, Pa. (March 13, 2012)
– Bucknell's Ryan Wenk scored a game-high five goals to lead the Bison past Saint Francis U., 21-8, at DeGol Field on Tuesday evening.  The setback dropped the Red Flash to 1-4 on the young season, while the Bison improved to 2-6.

Bucknell drew first blood on a score by Adrienne Wendling 1:12 into the contest and the Bison never looked back, pushing their lead to 13-4 at the intermission.

Wend scored the first goal of the second period to give her team a 10-point edge, but the Flash answered with a Kara Ledgerwood (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) tally on a free position shot to cut the differential to single digits.  Bucknell, however, responded by firing seven consecutive goals to put the game out of reach.

Danielle Conwell (Roxbury, N.J./Roxbury) notched a hat trick for the Red Flash and also picked up the only SFU assist of the game.  Ledgerwood, Samantha Barton, Megan Ross (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas), Catherine Jenkins (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) and Jenna Griffiths (Loveland, Ohio/Ursuline) each chipped in a goal.

Bucknell out-shot Saint Francis 35-18 on the evening, including 22-to-10 in the first half.

Saint Francis welcomes Liberty on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
