MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (March 31, 2012)
– Four Saint Francis U. players posted hat tricks but it wasn't enough to hold off Robert Morris (Pa.), as the Red Flash fell short, 18-13, in Northeast Conference women's lacrosse action on Saturday.

The Colonials (4-7; 2-1 NEC) got to work quickly, scoring the first four goals of the contest en route to a 13-6 halftime advantage.  Robert Morris (Pa.)'s Talia Waskowicz needed only 19 seconds to draw first blood and would go on to score a game-high seven goals.

The Red Flash (2-9; 03 NEC) came out of the intermission with a vengeance by tallying the first four goals of the second half.  Kate Simmons (Delran, N.J./Delran) opened the run with a score at 28:50, followed by a Danielle Conwell (Roxbury, N.J./Roxbury) goal three minutes later.  Megan Ross (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) chipped in her 10th goal of the season followed by another Conwell lamplighter to make the score, 13-10, with 16:12 to play.

In contrast to Friday's Saint Francis win over San Diego State, the Flash was unable to close the gap as the Colonials peppered in goals to keep SFU at arm's length.

Already up by four goals, RMU closed out the scoring with one second showing on the clock.

Simmons, Conwell, Ross and Samantha Barton each racked up three goals for the Red Flash.  Simmons also dished out a game-high two assists.

Saint Francis opens a two-game stand in Loretto on Thursday when it welcomes Quinnipiac for a 1 p.m. contest.  The game has been pushed up two hours from its original 3 p.m. start time.
