LORETTO, Pa. – Eight members of last season's Saint Francis softball team were tabbed Monday as National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athletes.
 
The award is bestowed upon players who must carry a 3.50 GPA through the entire school year. The five returners on the list are Chelsy Cosentino (New Kensington, Pa./Kiski Area), Maggie Creciun (Norristown, Pa./Norristown), Ketarah DeVries (Forreston, Ill./Forreston), Aly Ramsaier (Mesa, Ariz./Mountain View), Shannon Tomasello (Scottdale, Pa./Southmoreland).  The three non-returners are Taylor Darneille (Fircrest, Wash./Wilson), Misty Hammels and Brooke Koch (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore).
 
The Red Flash recently completed its fall schedule and will begin regular season play in February.
