LORETTO, Pa. (Feb. 18, 2013) – Colin Sherwin (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe), of the Saint Francis U men's volleyball team, was named the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The junior outside hitter led the Red Flash defense as they swept Sacred Heart and loss to Harvard in a close match this weekend.

In the win over Sacred Heart, Sherwin recorded five digs and five blocks, while adding 15 kills on the offensive end. The following day, the junior posted five blocks and three digs against the Crimson of Harvard.

The Greensburg, Pa. native is currently tied for ninth in kills per set in the EIVA (2.88) and 10th in points per set (3.45). This is Sherwin's first EIVA Defensive Player of the Week selection in 2013.

Saint Francis takes on EIVA foe Princeton on Friday at 7 p.m. in Sweet Loretto.
