Final Results
BUIES CREEK, N.C. (April 2, 2013) – The Saint Francis U men's golf team posted a seventh place finish at the Keith Hills Invitational on Tuesday with the completion of rounds two and three.
The Red Flash totaled a three-round team score of 929 (311-311-307) to finish ahead of eighth place Hampton in the tournament. Gardner Webb (288-286-284-858) bested second place and tournament host Campbell by five strokes to claim the invitational title.
Taking top individual honors for Saint Francis is
Kevin Fawcett (London, Ontario, Canada/Oakridge Secondary) (72-75-76-223) who posted a tie for 25th in the 60-player field.
Chris Stricek (Binghamton, N.Y./Windsor) (79-78-76-233) and
Jeff Chastel (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) (83-77-74-234) finished one stroke apart and collected ties for 42nd and 45th, respectively.
Edward Maruca (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) shot three consecutive rounds of 81, to total a 243 and a 53rd place finish for the tournament.
Shane Crampton (London, Ontario, Canada/Saunders Secondary) (79-83-88-250) notched solo possession of 56th in his first spring invitational.
Of the Red Flash student-athletes entered as individuals in the event,
James Ferguson (Altoona, Pa./Tyrone) (80-75-77-232) claimed 41st place,
Vincent Adams (Boisbriand, Quebec/John Abbot College) (76-85-81-242) finished in 52nd and
Kyle Krout (Cogan Station, Pa./Montoursville) (81-81-82-244) took home 54th.
Amanjyot Singh of Campbell won the individual championship at 2-under-par 211 (66-72-73).
Saint Francis is back in action at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational April 15-16.
