Wagner Visits Loretto for Senior Day

Game Notes    |    Live Stats

Saint Francis welcomes the Wagner College Seahawks to Loretto this afternoon for a pair of league games. Last season on the road in Staten Island, N.Y., the Red Flash and the Seahawks split the doubleheader, 8-4 and 7-3.

Having played 40 games in the all-time series, Wagner has a 24-16 advantage.

SAINT FRANCIS' LAST TIME OUT...
Yesterday at Red Flash Field the team hosted its second annual 'Hitting for Hope' charity event as the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds paid a visit to Loretto. Saint Francis suffered a pair of Northeast Conference losses to the Blackbirds by the finals of 10-0 in six innings and 6-5 in eight innings.

Game two saw a 5-2 Blackbird lead become a 5-5 tie ballgame in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a number of clutch Red Flash singles. LIU Brooklyn plated a run on a sacrifice fly however in the eighth to claim the 6-5 win.

Sabrie Neeb (Front Royal, Va./Skyline) hit a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate in the second game and drove in a pair of runs. SFU's leading hitter Chelsy Cosentino (New Kensington, Pa./Kiski Area) went 3-for-4 and lifted her batting average to .373 for the season.

WAGNER'S LAST TIME OUT...
Wagner also dropped a twinbill of conference games on Sunday. The Seahawks were downed 6-1 and 1-0 by league leader Robert Morris. Wagner notched its lone run of the day in the fourth inning of game one on a bases loaded drawn walk by Brittany Huss.

In game two, sophomore pitcher Samantha Bedker gave up just one unearned run on five hits. She did not issue any walks and struck out three.
