(Oct. 3, 2014) – The Saint Francis U women's soccer team continued its mastery of Wagner College Friday afternoon, defeating the Seahawks 1-0 in its Northeast Conference opener. SFU extended its winning streak vs. Wagner to 17 games in front of a rowdy home crowd on the dreary day.
The Red Flash outshot the Seahawks eight to two in the first half, but neither team found the back of the net.

Allison LaDuke (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe) broke the scoreless tie in the 67th minute. LaDuke received a long pass from senior captain
Mackenzie Walter (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) and beat the Seahawks senior goalie Katie Marcy, burying the ball in the bottom left corner.
LaDuke's goal was the first in her collegiate career. Walter was credited with the assist and now leads the Red Flash with five points this season.

Lexie Mirenda (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) earned her first collegiate start, win and shutout in the match. Mirenda recorded three saves.

Gabi Morales (Madrid, Spain/Colegio La Inmaculada-Marillac) led the Red Flash with four shots a-piece, as the Red Flash outshot the Seahawks 18-6 and six to three on goal.
The Red Flash will finish its six-game home stand Sunday October 5th at 1 p.m. against Central Connecticut State University. The Blue Devils are currently 4-3-3 and 0-0-1 in NEC play.
