CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Elise Lofgren won the 100-yard breaststroke Friday night at the NEC Championships as the Red Flash continues its competition with its conference foes.

Lofgren won the event in 1:02.69, just missing the NEC record by .22 seconds. She won the event by nearly two seconds as the next closest competitor posted a 1:04.36. SFU's
Catherine Rogers (Nokesville, Va./Seton School) finished in third place, just a tenth of a second behind second place.

Libby Francis (Dundee, Scotland/Grove Academy) added a third place showing in the 100-yard butterfly (55.78), just .05 seconds behind the winner in a very tight race. The Flash also took three of the top six spots in the 100-yard backstroke.
Sara Dieterich (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) finished second in 56.58 with teammates
Rebecca Peer (Chelsea, Quebec/Philemon Wright) (fifth, 57.69) and
Katrina Wilhite (Sparks, Nev./Edward C. Reed) (sixth, 57.79) just behind.

Dieterich, Lofgren, Francis and
Danyel Johnson (Dansville, N.Y./Dansville) also finished second in the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:46.84. Katelyn Happney finished seventh in the 400-yard individual medley in 4:42.22, besting her prelims time by more than a second. Â
