EUGENE, Ore. (July 23, 2014) – Saint Francis University women's track & field freshman
Emma O'Hara (Abingdon, England/Larkmead School) will represent Ireland in the hammer throw finals at the 2014 World Junior Championships tonight after advancing in the qualifying round last evening.
O'Hara threw a mark of 57.17 meters in the Group A Qualification round last night and advanced to the finals with 11 other individuals.
"Making the final at Junior Worlds was the only goal for Emma this year. Winning the Penn Relays, NEC Championship, All-East, and breaking the school record was all well and good, but all of that was just preparation for this moment," SFU throws coach
Grant West said. "She is now a finalist at the Junior World Championships, and I couldn't be more proud."
O'Hara will throw in the finals tonight at 8:30 p.m. EST. The results can be
