ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Jan. 21, 2015) – Sophomore
Plamen Avuski (Plovdiv, Bulgaria /Math High School ) earned a 6-4, 6-4 win out of his No. 4 singles position to break-up a shutout bid my Navy Saturday. The damage was already done, however, as the Midshipmen came away with a 6-1 in at the Tose Family Tennis Center.
Aside from Avuski's victory, the Mids took the day's other matches in straight set, including two by default.
"Against a talented and deep team like Navy, we needed to compete at our best," said Flash coach
Rob Castille. "Unfortunately, I was not pleased with the way we competed overall as a team. This is something I preach over and over again and I was disappointed in our effort. We have discussed this and will have a good week of practice. I'm confident we will be better next weekend."
Saint Francis travels to tropical Fort Wayne, Ind. next weekend as it takes on IPFW and Chicago State on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
