ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (Feb. 4, 2015) – For a second match in a row, the Saint Francis U women's tennis team let the doubles point slip through its fingers before turning it on in singles play to clinch a 4-3 victory over St. Bonaventure Saturday.
 
The Red Flash got its comeback underway when Shivani Patel (Leicestershire, England/Repton School) pulled out a gutsy three-set win at the No. 1 singles position.  The Bonnies got back on track with a win in the No. 2 spot, but SFU would take three of the next four matches to carry the day.
 
Winning convincingly were Alex Sachs (Parkland, Fla./Stoneman Douglas), Camila Diaz (Carolina, Puerto Rico/Colegio La Piedad) and Brittini Jentz (Plano, Texas/Ursuline Academy of Dallas) who picked up victories in the Nos. 3, 5 and 6 positions.
 
"This was a great effort by the girls," said SFU coach Rob Castille.  "St. Bonaventure is a talented team that always competes hard. I knew we had to at least match their intensity in order to have a chance today. The emphasis this week in practice was on being intense, focused, and keeping a positive attitude. The ladies applied those things in the match today and were able to pick up a great win."
 
Saint Francis is back on the road next weekend for a pair of matches. On Friday, the Flash travels to Youngstown State for a 7 p.m. contest, while Sunday's affair is slated for 10 a.m. at Lehigh.
