WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 11, 2015) - The Saint Francis University women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a close 4-3 defeat at the hands of Howard on Saturday afternoon.

Lucy Jasso (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/Instituto Potosino) carried the Red Flash as the senior earned a win at No. 5 singles, 7-5, 7-5. Jasso also paired with Brittini Jentz (Plano, Texas/Ursuline Academy of Dallas) at No. 3 doubles and picked up an 8-6 victory.

"Howard is a solid team, they played well today and deserved the win. The conditions were very windy and I don't think everyone handled it as well as they could have. But, this is a great preparation for us next week," said SFU head coach Rob Castille.

Camila Diaz (Carolina, Puerto Rico/Colegio La Piedad) earned a win at No. 6 flight singles, 6-1, 6-0.  Rafaela Panizza (Jundiai, Brazil) and Shivani Patel (Leicestershire, England/Repton School) also combined to win at No. 1 doubles.

Saint Francis makes the trek to West Windsor, N.J. this weekend for the Northeast Conference Championships.

"We'll correct a few things in practice and will be ready to go at NEC's," Castille continued.
