WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (April 17, 2015) – For the second consecutive season, the Saint Francis U women's tennis team will advance to the Northeast Conference Semifinals after besting No. 6 Mount St. Mary's, 4-1, on Friday morning.
 
The Red Flash were forced to play indoors because of poor weather, but that didn't stop them from taking care of business as the No. 3 seed. Rafaela Panizza (Jundiai, Brazil) and Shivani Patel (Leicestershire, England/Repton School) each won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.

"This was a solid performance from the women. We had beaten The Mount a couple weeks ago and I stressed to the team not to overlook them as they are a talented team. While we came out a little nervous, I thought we played well after we shook off the early jitters," said SFU head coach Rob Castille.
 
Brittini Jentz (Plano, Texas/Ursuline Academy of Dallas) and Lucy Jasso (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/Instituto Potosino) each picked up a singles point as well for Saint Francis to get them to the necessary four points for victory. Dani Gryckiewicz (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Academy) was also winning big at No. 6 singles, but the match did not need to be finished.
 
The doubles matches were not needed as SFU got to the four points in singles play.

"We'll rest up tonight and be prepared for a battle tomorrow with Bryant," Castille continued.
 
Saint Francis will face No. 2 seed Bryant tomorrow at 9 a.m. in the NEC Semifinals.
