MONROEVILLE, Pa. (April 2, 2015) - The Saint Francis U women's tennis team stayed perfect in Northeast Conference play after defeating Mount St. Mary's, 7-0, in a home contest away from Loretto on Thursday afternoon.

The Red Flash moves to 5-8 overall and improve to an undefeated 2-0 in league play. The Mountaineers were 9-5 overall and 2-0 in NEC play entering the contest with SFU.

"The women played a great match today. I was a little concerned that they might come out flat after their big win last weekend. They came out with a lot of energy and took it to a solid Mount St. Mary's team. It's great to end our conference schedule with a performance like this," said SFU head coach Rob Castille.

Rafaela Panizza (Jundiai, Brazil) led the charge for SFU as she won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles to set the tone. Shivani Patel (Leicestershire, England/Repton School) won at No. 2 singles over MSM's Kelly Smith by a score of, 6-2, 6-1. This tandem also picked up a win for SFU at No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 win.

Alex Sachs (Parkland, Fla./Stoneman Douglas) lost her first set, but came back to win, 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Brittini Jentz (Plano, Texas/Ursuline Academy of Dallas) and Dani Gryckiewicz (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Academy) followed in suit with wins and No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Lucy Jasso (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/Instituto Potosino) kept the perfect score for Saint Francis by besting  The Mount's Jennifer Smith, 6-3, 6-0.

SFU is back in action tomorrow in Monroeville against Dayton, the match will begin at 12 p.m.
