Live Stats LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis football team travels to No. 16 Youngstown State on Saturday for a 4 p.m. kickoff against the Penguins at Stambaugh Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3/WatchESPN.
The Red Flash enters this week with a 1-1 record after last week's 35-20 loss at Towson.
Lorenzo Jerome (Sunrise, Fla./J.P. Taravella) scored on a school-record 99-yard kick return, helping him earn NEC Special Teams Player of the Week. He totaled 181 yards on four returns and added 11 tackles and an interception, which he returned 70 yards.
Terell Smith (West Haverstraw, N.Y./North Rockland) caught eight passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns.
Saint Francis earned back-to-back NEC Special Teams Player of the Week awards for the first time in program history. It is just the fourth time that the Red Flash have won multiple NEC Special Teams Player of the Week awards in a season. It is also the first time they have won back-to-back NEC Player of the Week awards since
Anthony Abeid (Youngstown, Ohio/Youngstown Christian) was Rookie of the Week in 2012 on November 12 and 19.
Through two games, the Red Flash offense is averaging 34 points and 358.5 yards per game, including 203.5 yards through the air.
Junior quarterback
Zack Drayer (Hershey, Pa./Hershey ) has completed 67 percent of his 58 attempts for 407 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
Running backs
Khairi Dickson (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Central Catholic) and
Marcus Bagley (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) are one of five backfield pairs to each rank among the Top 50 in the FCS in rushing yards. Dickson has 165 yards and three touchdowns on 37 carries in 2015, while Bagley is averaging six yards per carry on 26 attempts for a total of 155 yards. Dickson, NEC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 7, also has three catches for 28 yards.
Smith has two straight 100-yard games to begin the 2015 campaign after entering his senior season with one prior 100-yard game. He has a total of 17 catches for 242 yards and three touchdowns. He leads the NEC in all three categories.
Daniel Adams (Washington, D.C./Northwestern) has five catches on 52 yards, while Will Martin has added six receptions for 40 yards.
The Saint Francis defense is allowing 314.5 yards per game through two contests. The unit has forced four turnovers, including three interceptions.
Linebacker
Semo Sila (Honolulu, Hawaii /Farrington) matched a career-high with seven tackles in SFU's opening week win over Georgetown and then doubled that last week vs. Towson. Jerome has 16 tackles, with eight solo and two for loss, including a sack.
Freshman linebacker
Sean Orsini (Imperial, Pa./West Allegheny) has 11 tackles, with one for loss and half a sack. Sophomore safety
Delondo Boyd (Indian Head, Md./Henry E. Lackey) has recorded nine tackles and two interceptions, including a 35-yard pick-six vs. Georgetown.
Youngstown State is also 1-1 after an 21-14 overtime win vs. Robert Morris last week.
Through two games, quarterback Hunter Wells has completed 46 percent of his passes for 381 yards and three touchdowns. The Penguins also have a dangerous backfield duo. Jody Webb leads the team with 226 yards and two touchdowns on 40 carries, while Ruiz has 122 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.
Linebacker Dubem Nwadiogbu led the defense with 10 tackles vs. Robert Morris, while defensive end Derek Rivers had nine stops, with seven solo, 4.5 for loss and a sack. Safety LeRoy Alexander had eight tackles, including 1.5 for loss and an interception.
