LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis swimming team resumes its season on Friday, January 15 as it travels to Lock Haven for a 7 p.m. meet. The Red Flash is 5-7 this season and will look for its first road win of the season on Friday. The Bald Eagles enter the meet with an 0-2 mark.
Saint Francis begins the first of three meets before the NEC Championships. SFU is competing after a month-long break after its meet against Duquesne.
Sophomore
Katie Lafferty (Bremen, Ind./Bremen), a three-time NEC Swimmer of the Week honoree, is among the Top 10 times in the conference this season in five different events. Lafferty is ninth in 50 Freestyle (24.05), seventh in the 100 Freestyle (52.26), sixth in the 200 Freestyle (1:53.27), sixth in the 500 Freestyle (5:05.51) and 10th in the 100 Butterfly (59.08).
Fellow sophomore
Emma Karell (Norrtälje, Sweden/Täby Swim Club) owns Top 10 NEC times in the 1000 Freestyle (Sixth, 10:51.87), 200 Breaststroke (Fifth, 2:25.88), 200 Butterfly (Ninth, 2:10.95) and 400 IM (Seventh, 4:37.86).
Senior
Catherine Rogers (Nokesville, Va./Seton School) has the fifth-best time in the conference in the 100 Breaststroke, with a pace of 1:05.24, while freshman
Jessica Crumm (New Hampton, N.Y./Minisink Valley) is ninth, with a time of 1:07.99. Rogers also has the ninth-best time in the league in the 100 Butterfly, with a mark of 59.00. Sophomore
Mary Kish (Glendale, Ariz./Bourgade Catholic) is ninth in the 200 Breaststroke, with a time of 2:27.81.
