Biography
SENIOR (2017-18) – NEC Champion in the 50 Freestyle (23.20, SFU record)… At the NEC Championships, finished second in the 100 Freestyle (50.39, SFU record) and second in the 100 Backstroke (55.66, SFU record). Finished third in the 200 Medley Relay (1:42.99), third-best at SFU, third in the 400 Medley Relay (3:49.80), fifth-best at SFU, 200 Freestyle Relay (1:34.39), fifth-best at SFU, and 800 Freestyle Relay (7:28.57), second-best at SFU… At Bowling Green (9/29), won the 50 Freestyle (24.31) and 50 Backstroke (26.99)… In the Justin Jennings Invite (10/6), placed second in the 100 Backstroke (57.99), bettering the previous meet record, third in the 50 Freestyle (24.37), also topping a meet record, fourth in the 500 Freestyle (5:13.64) and fifth in the 100 IM (1:01.14) and 100 Freestyle (53.93). Finished second in the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:38.44), betting a meet record, third in the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:38.67) and fourth in the 200 Medley Relay (1:51.06)… At the Northeast Catholic Invitational (10/13), won and established meet records in the 100 Backstroke (59.01) and 100 Freestyle (53.02), while winning the 50 Freestyle (24.21). Placed second in the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:39.39) and 400 Medley Relay (4:02.11)… Against Wagner (10/28), won the 50 Freestyle (24.19), 200 Medley Relay (1:48.14) and 400 Freestyle Relay (3:36.40)… At LIU Brooklyn, won the 100 Freestyle (53.03), 500 Freestyle (5:13.35), 100 Backstroke (57.78) and 200 Freestyle Relay (1:39.82)… At the Magnus Cup (11/17), finished sixth in the 50 Backstroke (27.14) and ninth in the 200 IM (24.16)… At the ECAC Winter Championships (12/1), won the 100 Backstroke (57.21) and placed fourth in the 100 Freestyle (51.76), sixth in the 50 Freestyle (23.78) and 100 Butterfly (57.44). Finished sixth in the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:39.28), ninth in the 800 Freestyle Relay (7:59.10) and 10th in the 200 Medley Relay (1:49.90)… In the dual meet at Iona/Delaware (1/14), won the 100 Freestyle (53.74), 100 Backstroke (58.80) and 400 Freestyle Relay (3:36.95)… At Siena (1/20), won the 100 Backstroke (2:12.99) and 200 Medley Relay (1:51.36), while placing second in the 200 IM (2:15.65)… At the Western PA Invite (1/27), finished fifth in the 200 Medley Relay (1:48.44) and 200 Freestyle Relay (1:39.04), while placing sixth in the 100 Backstroke (1:00.39).
JUNIOR (2016-17) – Served as captain during the 2016-17 season. Established Top 10 times at SFU in the 50-yard Freestyle (2nd, 23.37), 200-yard Medley Relay (1:43.12), 400-yard Freestyle Relay (2nd, 3:27.53) and 800-yard Freestyle Relay (7:29.74)… At the NEC Championships, finished third in the 50-yard Freestyle (23.37), fourth in the 100-yard Freestyle (51.15) and fourth in the 200-yard Freestyle (1:51.09). Combined with Erin O’Neill, Paige McLean and Sabrina Bowman for a third-place finish in the 200-yard Medley Relay (1:43.12), the third-best all-time at SFU. Teamed with Karilyn Quon, Aimee Baur and Emma Karell to finish third in the 800-yard Freestyle Relay (7:29.74)… Named NEC Swimmer of the Week on November 15… At the Colgate Fall Classic, earned wins in the 200-yard Freestyle (1:56.32), 100-yard Backstroke (1:00.03) and 100-yard Freestyle (53.69), placed third in the 500-yard Freestyle (5:14.98) and second in the 50-yard Freestyle (24.52). Contributed to first-place finishes in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay (1:38.63) and the 400-yard Freestyle Relay (3:36.68), both meet records… Won three events at the Northeast Catholic Invitational, including the 50-yard Freestyle (24.12), 100-yard Freestyle (53.11) and 200-yard Freestyle (1:55.70), while helping to earn relay wins in the 400-yard Medley (3:58.15) and 200-yard Medley (1:49.75)… Against LIU Brooklyn (10/29), won the 50-yard Freestyle (24.06) and 100-yard Freestyle (53.74), while contributing to wins in the 200-yard Medley Relay (1:48.67) and 800-yard Freestyle Relay (7:52.89)… Earned three wins against Wagner (11/12), including the 50-yard Freestyle (24.33), 100-yard Freestyle (53.11) and 200-yard Freestyle (1:55.08)… At the Magnus Cup, finished ninth in the 50-yard Freestyle (23.98) and seventh in the 50-yard Backstroke (27.07)… Won the 200-yard Backstroke against Lock Haven (12/3), with a time of 2:12.57… At Youngstown State (1/13), won the 500-yard Freestyle (5:16.37) and contributed to a win in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay (1:39.75)… Against Duquesne (1/14), earned wins in the 50-yard Freestyle (24.28) and 100-yard Freestyle (53.39). Helped earn wins in the 200-yard Medley Relay (1:48.73) and 200-yard Freestyle Relay (1:38.85)… Picked up three wins against Siena (1/19), in the 1000-yard Freestyle (10:50.33), 100-yard Freestyle (53.33) and 100-yard Butterfly (58.97), while contributing to a win in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay (3:44.88)… At the Western PA Invitational, finished third in the 500-yard Freestyle (5:17.50) and ninth in the 200-yard Freestyle (1:58.28).
SOPHOMORE (2015-16) – NEC Champion in the 500-yard Freestyle, with a school-record time of 4:53.19… SFU Outstanding Sophomore Female Athlete... Team MVP... Finished second in the 200-yard Freestyle at the NEC Championships, with a school-record mark of 1:50.00, and third in the 100-yard Freestyle, with a career-best mark of 51.00, the second-best in program-history… Four-time NEC Swimmer of the Week… Two-time College Sports Madness NEC Swimmer of the Week... Set new career-bests this season in the 50-yard Freestyle(23.72), 100-yard Freestyle, 200-yard Freestyle, 500-yard Freestyle, 50-yard Backstroke(26.14), 100-yard Backstroke(1:00.03), 200-yard Backstroke(2:11.70), 50-yard Butterfly(26.57), 100-yard Butterfly(59.08) and 200-yard Butterfly(2:13.15)… Earned six wins this season in the 200-yard Freestyle, with victories vs. the Northeast Catholic Invite(10/17), Mount St. Mary’s(10/24), LIU Brooklyn(10/31), Wagner(11/14), Siena(1/23) and Youngstown State(1/30)… Recorded five first-place finishes in the 500-yard Freestyle, including wins against LIU Brooklyn, Wagner, Siena and Youngstown State… Earned wins in the 50-yard Freestyle vs. Wagner and Youngstown State, victories in the 200-yard Backstroke vs. St. Francis Brooklyn(10/10) and Lock Haven(1/15) and wins in the 200-yard Butterfly vs. St. Francis Brooklyn and Lock Haven… Won the 100-yard Freestyle at the Northeast Catholic Invite, hosted by Boston College… Combined with Mary Kish, Catherine Rogers and Alicia Tiberino for a second-place finish in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay at the NEC Championships, with a time of 1:34.00, the top time in program history… Helped with fourth place finishes in the 200-yard Medley Relay, 400-yard Freestyle Relay and 800-yard Freestyle Relay at the NEC Championships… Part of four wins in the 200-yard Medley Relay, three victories in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay and three wins in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay this year.
FRESHMAN (2014-15) – Team MVP and Rookie of the Year... Two-time NEC Swimmer of the Week (10/22, 11/11) … won the 100-yard freestyle in 53.83 against Siena … took the 100-yard freestyle in 53.66 and the 200-yard freestyle wins in 1.55.87 at Wagner … took second place in the 500 freestyle (5:12.04) at Youngstown State… Finished 2nd at the NEC Championships in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.70.
BEFORE SFU – Lafferty was a member of the swim team at Bremen High School in Indiana. She was a four-year varsity swimmer, earning three Team MVP honors and served as co-captain. She holds eight school records at Bremen and was a 16-time all-conference first team selection, with four first-time selections in four different events. Swam for Irish Aquatics for 10 years.
PERSONAL – Lafferty plans on studying Business Management and Business Markerting with a minor in Social Work while at Saint Francis.
