LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Saint Francis women's tennis team wrapped up action at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday.  Red Flash sophomore Raksha Bode (Reunion, Fla./Florida Virtual School) and freshman Kathryn Dunleavy (Farmington Hills, Mich./Mercy) both reached their singles finals, while Dunleavy and sophomore Stephanie Miller (Washington, D.C./St. John's College High School) competed in their doubles final.
 
In singles Flight Two, SFU teammates Bode and freshman Lucia Seigford (Madrid, Spain/Mirasur) competed in a semifinal match.  Seigford claimed the first set, 6-3, but Bode responded with a 6-3 win of her own in the second set.  In the deciding super-tiebreaker set, Bode earned a 10-5 victory to advance to the final.  Bode then took on Villanova's Carina Burdick in the final.  However, the SFU sophomore fell 6-1, 6-0.  Bode ended the weekend with a 3-1 record.
 
In singles Flight Three, Dunleavy competed against Loyola's Lin Robertson in the semifinals.  The Red Flash rookie took the opening set, 6-3.  Dunleavy then won the second set, 6-1, to complete the sweep.  She moved onto the final, where she met Bucknell's Paige Leavy.  However, Dunleavy dropped a 6-2, 7-5 result, but finished the tournament with a 3-1 mark.
 
Freshman Laura Gutierrez (Bogota, Colombia/Cibercolegio UCN) and senior Brittany Plaszewski (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) competed in consolation matches on Sunday.
 
Gutierrez met Mount St. Mary's Alexa Quintanilla.  In a one-set match, Quintanilla won 8-6.  Plaszewski battled Loyola's Ania Krawiec and earned an 8-1 victory.
 
In the doubles Flight Two final, Dunleavy and Miller took on Villanova's Aphrah Brokaw and Burdick.  In a tight set, the Red Flash duo fell 7-5.  The pair went 3-1 this weekend.
 
The Red Flash will compete at the Greater Cincinnati Invitational next weekend, September 16-18.
