Softball Gives Inside Look At Hitting Workouts

LORETTO, Pa. - The Saint Francis Softball team has developed into one of the top hitting programs in the nation over the last few seasons.  That success at the plate was a big reason why the Red Flash won its first NEC Title and made its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017.  The Red Flash took us inside their hitting workouts, which uses Diamond Kinetics technology, to show the hitting approach and video work they use with their athletes.

Saint Francis was among the Top 20 teams in the nation last season in runs (364, 6 per game), home runs (65), on-base percentage (.399) and slugging percentage (.488).  Watch the video above to learn more about Saint Francis' hitting workouts.

The Red Flash, led by Head Coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift, set an SFU and NEC record with 49 wins last season, including a perfect 19-0 against NEC opponents, becoming the first NEC team to go undefeated against conference opponents.  SFU won the NEC Title, made an NCAA Tournament appearance and won the first NCAA Tournament game in program and SFU Athletics' history.  The Red Flash will face a challenging 2018 schedule, which features 16 games against Power Five conference opponents, including tournaments at Auburn, Oklahoma State and Arkansas as well as a midweek game against reigning National Champion Oklahoma.  Saint Francis opens its 2018 season on Friday, February 9 against Presbyterian at the Coastal Carolina Tournament.
