Familiar Territory

This is Saint Francis's fourth NCAA Appearance in program history, all of which have come within the last seven years. Saint Francis is 0-3 in the NCAA Tournament but took Ohio State to the brink in 2010 in a 1-0 double overtime loss. The Red Flash squared off with Georgetown in 2016 with the Hoyas recording a 2-0 victory.

Down to the Wire

Sunday's win over Fairleigh Dickinson in penalties of the NEC Finals was its third in program history and the first since 2011. The Red Flash are 3-1 all-time in games decided by penalty kicks.

All-Tournament

Freshman Mariana Jaleca, sophomore Julia Hernan, junior Shannon McGinnis and senior Gabi Morales were the four SFU players to land on the NEC All-Tournament Team. Morales was named the MVP.

Jaleca scored the opening goal in SFU's 2-1 win over Central Connecticut State in the NEC Semifinals then converted a penalty in the shootout victory over Fairleigh Dickinson. Hernan stopped 15 of the 16 shots she faced in the tournament's two games and allowed just two goals on five penalty attempts, making a huge save in round four. McGinnis was a stalwart in the two games, helping Saint Francis hold Fairleigh Dickinson scoreless over 110 minutes in the NEC Final. Morales scored the game-winning goal over CCSU to help SFU reach the finals.
