BOX SCORE Boiling Springs, S.C. - For the second consecutive game the Saint Francis lacrosse team (3-1) shutout its opponent in the second half, this time in a 19-3 win over Gardner-Webb, to win its third straight game. The winning streak matches its longest in program history.
Concheck's Reaction
"We came to Gardner-Webb looking to get revenge for our one goal loss to them last season and I thought we made a statement today," said head coach
Kara Concheck. "We worked as a collective unit and showed how dynamic we can be offensively. Defensively, we shut a team out in the second half for the second consecutive game which is awesome. Our defense has stepped up lately and will continue to improve.
Turning Point
The Red Flash fell behind 2-0 before rattling off seven straight goals. Senior
Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus) was in the center of the action with three goals while junior
Sarah Mahon (Malverne, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) scored two. Saint Francis ended the half on a 13-1 run and outscored Gardner-Webb 19-1 over the final 28 minutes.

- Saint Francis outscored Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb 35-6 on its two-game road swing through South Carolina.
- The Saint Francis three-game winning streak not only ties its best mark in program history, but it puts them at 3-1, which equals its best start in school history.
- Senior Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus) tied her career-high with six goals. It is the second time in four games this season she has hit the six goal mark as she netted six in a win over Radford.
- Fresh off earning NEC Player and Rookie of the Week honors for an eight-point performance, freshman Sydney Davis (Harwood, Md./Southern) followed it up with seven more points on four goals and three assists.
- Junior Sarah Mahon (Malverne, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) netted three goals, while junior Jessica Fischetti (Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) contributed a goal and two assists.
- Freshman Livia Baker (Fallston, Md. /Fallston High School) scored her first career goal on a free position to end the first half. Freshman Lauren Ryan (Towson, Md. /Notre Dame Prep) also netted her first career goal to close the scoring.
- Saint Francis's calling card this season has been winning the hustle stats. Junior Jessica Mazzur (Dallastown, Pa./York Catholic) made sure they did so again in this one with six ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control.
- The Red Flash avenged a 12-11 loss to Gardner-Webb last season.

- Saint Francis dominated the shot totals, 37-11.
- Most of Saint Francis's looks were high percentage as 32 of its 37 shot attempts were on goal. Gardner-Webb put eight shots on goal, but goalies Heather McKee (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright Bel Air) and Ashley Stoessel (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) stopped five of them.
- The pesky Red Flash defense caused the Runnin' Bulldogs to commit 21 turnovers and scooped up 24 ground balls.
