BOX SCORE Vestal, N.Y. - The Binghamton Bearcats used a 5-0 run to open the game and a 9-0 run to start the second half to defeat the Saint Francis women's lacrosse team (3-2) 20-7 on Friday.

Coach Concheck's Reaction

"We didn't get the job done today," said head coach Kara Concheck. "The draw control is usually one of our forte's but today we didn't come up with those 50/50 balls. Binghamton possessed the ball and outshot us by a wide margin. They wanted it more than we did today and were the better team."

Turning Point

The Red Flash weathered the Bearcats fast start by outscoring them 6-5 over the final 17 minutes of the half to head into the intermission trailing 10-6. Binghamton responded with nine straight goals to start the second half to put the Red Flash away for good.

Notes

• Junior Sydney Rowan (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) led Saint Francis with two goals and an assist. Senior Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus) added two goals and freshman Sydney Davis (Harwood, Md./Southern) chipped in with a goal and an assist.
• Lawrence had a solid overall game with four draw controls. 
• Freshman Peyton LeConte (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) caused two turnovers and picked up two ground balls. 
• Senior Heather McKee (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright Bel Air) stopped five of the 22 shots she faced.

• The Bearcats edged the Red Flash in draw controls (17-12) and ground balls (21-17).
