Lubbock, Texas -Â The Saint Francis softball team (21-8) returns to Texas for its final tune-up before conference play starts on Apr. 1. The Red Flash will play two games vs. East Carolina and two vs. Texas Tech at the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic.

Texas Tech has navigated a difficult schedule to record a 13-11 record. The Red Flash and Red Raiders have played two common opponents in North Texas and Tulsa. Both teams split their doubleheaders vs. North Texas, while Texas Tech lost its only meeting to Tulsa and Saint Francis split with the Golden Hurricanes. Devon Thomey leads Texas Tech with a .359 batting average while Jessica Hartwell (.325) leads with 25 hits, four doubles and 20 rbi. Raina O'Neal leads the team with six home run, while Hartwell follows closely with four. Kassidy Scott is 6-6 with a 2.67 era in the circle while Mattison Maisel is 5-2 despite a 5.79 era.
Scouting East Carolina
East Carolina (14-11) and Saint Francis squared off earlier in the season with the Red Flash prevailing 1-0 behind a complete-game no-hittter from
Ketarah DeVries (Forreston, Ill./Forreston).
Jordan Seneca (Plum, Pa./Plum) provided all the offense with a first inning home run. Alex Mycek and Meredith Burroughs are dangerous power threats with nine and eight home runs, respectively. Mycek leads the team with a .377 batting average followed by Ali Ramirez (.344) and Tate McClellan (.338). Saint Francis will likely see pitcher Lydia Ritche again after she held the Red Flash to one run on three hits. Ritchie is 8-5 with a 3.04 era and seven complete games.

In the Top 10 in the NCAA Ranks
After its offensive outburst at the Liberty Classic, the Saint Francis softball team has landed multiple players in the top 10 in the NCAA in numerous offensive categories. Junior
Jordan Seneca (Plum, Pa./Plum) homered in each of the final three games of the tournament an drove in 11 rbi for the week to climb the rankings. She is tied-for-first nationally in home runs with Arkansas' Nicole Schroeder (12), fourth in rbi (35) and tied-for-sixth in total bases. Sophomore
Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) hit three doubles to up her total to 11, which puts her in a logjam for the national lead.
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) notched 12 hits to move into a tie-for-seventh in the country in hits (39).
More Conference Awards for SFU
Monday was another celebration of NEC awards for the Red Flash as
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) and Seneca were named Co-Players of the Week, and
Abby Trahan (Kaplan, La./Kaplan) took home Co-Pitcher and Rookie of the Week honors. Seneca has won four of the first five conference Player of the Week awards, while Trahan has took home four of the first five Rookie of the Week's. The freshman pitcher also took home her second Pitcher of the Week.
It's a Win Streak
Saint Francis is riding a nine-game win streak, its highest since winning 10 straight in 2015. The program record win streak is 12, which was also part of a program-best 17-game unbeaten streak, set in 1998.
