LORETTO, Pa. – Former Saint Francis field hockey player Shannon Pereira (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Francis Libermann Catholic) has been selected as one of 18 athletes to represent Canada at the 2017 Gryphon Hockey World League Round 2 at West Vancouver's Rutledge Field from April 1-9, 2017.
 
Last spring, Pereira helped lead Canada to a fourth-place finish at the Pan American Junior Championship, where she scored a goal.
 
Pereira was named an All-Atlantic 10 player all three years at Saint Francis and was a team captain last season. She was tied for second on the squad with eight goals and led the team with 10 assists and 26 points in her final season in Loretto.
 
Canada will open the 2017 Gryphon Hockey World League Round 2 competition on April 1 against Mexico at 4:30 p.m.
