Loretto, Pa. –
The Saint Francis lacrosse team (6-8, 1-4 NEC) will take on Sacred Heart on Fri, Apr. 28, and LIU Brooklyn on Sun., Apr. 30, in its final weekend of the regular season.

Scouting Sacred Heart

The Pioneers are 4-10 overall and 2-3 in the conference after dropping games to Wagner and Mount St. Mary's over the weekend.  A trio of 20+ goal scorers lead Sacred Heart in Caitlin Delaney (26), Alyssa Pearce (25) and Averi Farhat (21), however they rank last as a team in the NEC in scoring (8.36 goals per game).

Scouting LIU Brooklyn

The Blackbirds (2-11) are looking for their first conference win, but three of their five losses in league play have been by two goals or less. Leading scorer Jenn Peters is eighth in the conference in goals per game (2.23) with 29 total. Tori Shinkowitz and Mary McQueen have added 22 and 21 goals respectively. The Blackbirds are a scrappy group ranking second in the league in ground balls per game (20.62) and caused turnovers per game (11.15).

Balanced Scoring

The Red Flash attack spread the wealth on Sunday as six different players recorded three points. Juniors Sarah Mahon (Malverne, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) and Jessica Fischetti (Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) tallied hat tricks, freshman Sydney Davis (Harwood, Md./Southern) finished with two goals and an assist and juniors Sydney Rowan (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) and Jessica Mazzur (Dallastown, Pa./York Catholic) and senior Blair Rosenberg (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) added a goal and two assists.  Saint Francis assisted on eight of its 13 goals (61.5%), its second highest percentage of the season.

Playoff Push

At 1-4, the Red Flash need to win both games this weekend and get help from the rest of the conference to qualify for the conference tournament. Wagner and Mount St. Mary's cling to the final two spots with 3-2 records but if either lose out, Saint Francis could put itself in a tiebreaker situation with two wins.

Chasing History

Saint Francis is one win away from setting the school record for wins in a season with seven. The Red Flash tied the program record of six wins set in 2010 with a 10-9 win over Wagner to open conference play and will set the record if it can snap its current four-game losing streak.
