"In order for these men and women to be successful in athletics, they know they have to put in the work in the classroom," said Hoover. "They've made the same commitment to their academic success and have found a great balance between academics and athletics that is allowing them to be successful on both fronts. This recognition is a tribute to the commitment to academic excellence that these students have made, and the consistent effort they put forth in the classroom."
The Red Flash women's swimming team was the other group to be recognized with a conference-best 3.462 gpa.
