Betta Ceretta. "We did a lot of good things in the first half but we were unable to maintain the same level in the second half."

Late in the 57th minute, sophomore
Taylor Nesmith (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) had a breakaway chance to tie the game. Her shot, possessing serious steam, went wide left. The Red Flash never received another opportunity.

- Kent State scored the only goal of the game in the 14th minute when Courtney Weise passed the ball to Helen Harper who deposited it in the corner of the net.
- Kent State's Jessica Nesbitt was whistled for a green card in the 31st minute. Saint Francis was unable to take advantage of the situation.
- The first half went quietly after the green card as both defenses stiffened.
- In the 51st minute, Taylor Nesmith (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) sent a sharp pass to freshman Abby Romig (Honey Brook, Pa./Twin Valley) whose shot bounced high and to the right of the net.
- Six minutes later, the turning point of the game occurred when Nesmith's shot veered wide left.
- The last two minutes wasted away under two Kent State penalty corners. The Golden Flashes failed to convert but the running clock finally ran out on the Red Flash.

- Saint Francis recorded four shots for the game. Kent State had 11.
- For the second game in a row, the Red Flash did not have a penalty corner in the second half.
- Saint Francis finished with three penalty corners. Kent State had five.
- Junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Dyer (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) recorded seven saves.
- Both goalkeepers went the full distance of 70 minutes.
