SFU's unbeaten NEC record on the line at RMU Saturday

Live Stats | Live Video

Loretto, Pa. – The Saint Francis women's soccer team (5-6-3, 3-0-1 NEC) will bring a four-game unbeaten streak to Moon Township on Saturday, Oct. 13 to play Robert Morris (3-11, 1-3 NEC) at 1 p.m.

Scouting Robert Morris

After an NEC opening 2-1 win over Wagner, the Colonials have dropped three straight and have their backs against the wall in the race for one of four playoff spots. The RMU attack revolves around the NEC's leading goal scorer, Jane Schleicher. The senior forward has scored nine of Robert Morris's 13 goals, but has been limited to no goals and just five shots over her last three games. Nobody on the team outside of Schleicher has more than one goal but Bailey Farabaugh is second on the team in points with a goal and two assists. Six of RMU's 11 losses have been by one goal and all have been by two goals or less.

Series History

Saint Francis is 18-6-2 all-time vs. Robert Morris after last season's 3-0 victory.

Razor-Thin Margin

As head coach Brenda Van Stralen has alluded to on numerous occasions, every NEC game is a battle. All four of SFU's conference games this season have gone down to the wire and been decided by one goal. SFU is 3-0 in one-goal conference results with all three game-winning goals coming in the second half or overtime. SFU scored in the 88th minute to earn a 1-1 draw with Bryant in its other result.

Shots Tell the Tape

SFU's shot attempts are usually a good indication of its success. The Red Flash are 5-0-1 when registering at least 15 shot attempts and 0-6-2 when falling below the mark. SFU has been shutout five times but is averaging 1.89 goals per game in its nine other contests.

Keep The Streak Alive

Saint Francis is unbeaten in its last eight conference matches. If you include last year's NEC Tournament, Saint Francis runs its unbeaten streaks against conference opponents to 10. The last Saint Francis loss in conference came in double overtime on Oct. 13 of last season at CCSU.
