MONROEVILLE, Pa. – The Saint Francis Men's Tennis team fell 4-0 against Dayton on Sunday at The Club Sport and Health in Monroeville.  The Red Flash dropped the doubles point and three singles matches. SFU is now 0-6 this Spring, while Dayton improved to 8-2.
 
At the top doubles spot, senior Alec Dylan Foo-Kune (Phoenix, Mauritius/International Connections Academy (Md.)) and sophomore Eduardo Garcia (Toluca, Mexico/Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico) paired up against Dayton's Zach Berry and Carsten Fisher.  The Red Flash duo was trailing 6-5 when the match was stopped.
 
Sophomore Franz Luna (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Laurel Springs) and freshman Sebastian Pinos (Quito, Ecuador/Compuinformatica) took on the Flyers' Jordan Benjamin and Theodor Jener at No. 2 doubles.  The SFU pair fell 6-1.
 
Junior Chad Allender (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) and sophomore Samuel Miller (Smithfield, R.I./Homeschool) competed at No. 3 against UD's Will Harper and Simon Jayaram.  In a tight set, Allender and Miller came up short, 7-5.
 
Luna matched up against Dayton's Benjamin at the top singles spot.  The SFU sophomore dropped a 6-0, 7-5 decision.  At No. 3, Pinos took on UD's Berry, but fell 6-0, 6-3.
 
In the match at No. 5, Garcia met the Flyers' Steven Karl, but suffered a 6-0, 6-1 setback.
 
Foo-Kune competed against UD's Fisher at No. 2 singles, but the match was stopped in the first game after the match point was clinched.  Miller was set to play against UD's Jener at No. 4 and Allender was scheduled to face UD's Harper at No. 6, but both matches went unplayed.
 
The Red Flash returns to The Club Sport and Health for two more home matches next weekend.  Saint Francis hosts Bucknell on Friday at 4 p.m. and Detroit on Saturday at 5 p.m.
