Game 1 – Ball State
Sophomore
Abby Trahan (Kaplan, La./Kaplan) made the start for the Red Flash, turning in another solid performance. Trahan threw her seventh complete game of the season, giving up a run on seven hits. She struck out seven and walked three. Ball State had two baserunners on in only three innings. Trahan recorded her fourth outing this year in which she has gone at least seven innings and allowed one or less run.
                              Â
Junior Aeshia Miles started in the circle for the Cardinals. In 4.1 innings of work, she allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits. Miles struck out one and walked two before being replaced with one out in the fifth by Alyssa Rockwell, who threw 2.2 innings, giving up a hit and striking out four.
Â
Saint Francis collected four runs on seven hits.Â
Madison Cabell (Ivor, Va./Southampton) and
Mikayla Bower (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) each had an RBI double, with Cabell also scoring a run.Â
Kassidy Troxell (Navarre, Ohio/Perry) and
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) both added an RBI single and
MeKenzie Saban (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) contributed a single and a run.Â
Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) had a double and
Jordan Seneca (Plum, Pa./Plum) had a single.
Â
Ball State scored a run on seven hits. The top two batters in the BSU order contributed five hits as Haley Dominique went three-for-four with a double and Hailey Demnianiuk added two hits, with an RBI double. Maddy Labrador and Annie Robinson each had a single.
Â
The Red Flash pushed two runs across in the top of the third.Â
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) led off the inning with a single to left and Saban followed with a grounder up the middle for a single. A groundout by
Hayley Norton (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) moved the runners to second and third. Troxell then reached on an infield single to second to score McKee from third.  A grounder by Cabell was misplayed by the third baseman, allowing Saban to cross the plate and extend the SFU lead to 2-0.
Â
The Cardinals answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning. Kendall Fields reached on a walk, with a sacrifice bunt moving pinch-runner Katie Janiga to second. After an infield single by Dominique to the shortstop, Demnianiuk doubled to the wall in left to drive in Janiga and cut Ball State's deficit in half.
Â
Saint Francis extended its lead to 4-1 in the top of the fifth. Norton was hit by a pitch to begin the inning. A groundout pushed her to second before a lined double by Cabell to the gap in right-center drove in Norton. Bower replaced spots with Cabell, hitting a double down the line to left, allowing Cabell to cross the plate.Â
Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) then blooped a double to left to put runners on second and third, but a pair of strikeouts ended the inning.
Â
Game 2 – Canisius
Sophomore
Adrian Smith (Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) started in the circle in game two. She went 4.1 innings, allowing just one run on four hits, while striking out two and walking one. Smith only allowed more than one Canisius batter to reach base in one inning. Trahan came on in relief and finished the game, throwing 1.2 innings, giving up a hit, and striking out two.
Â
For the second straight day, Erika Mackie started for Canisius against the Red Flash. She threw all seven innings, allowing just one hit and one walk, while striking out three.
Â
The Red Flash's only hit of the game came on a single to center by
Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois).Â
Madison Cabell (Ivor, Va./Southampton) drew a walk,
Mikayla Bower (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) was hit by a pitch and
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) reached on a fielding error as SFU's only other batters to reach base.
Â
Canisius scored a run on just five hits. Lauran Castro hit her first homer of the year for the Golden Griffins' only run. Erin Hufford, Morgan Altman, Destiny Holani and Gianna Degaltini all had singles.
Â
The Golden Griffins broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth. On the first pitch of the inning, Lauren Castro hit a fly ball to right field that cleared the fence to give Canisius a 1-0 lead.Â
Â
With two outs in the second innings,
Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) sent a soft line drive to center for a single. However, a lineout to second by
Jordan Seneca (Plum, Pa./Plum) ended the inning.Â
Â
Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) reached base with one out in the top third on an error. However, she was called out on a stolen base attempt before a grounder ended the inning. Cabell then reached base on a walk in the fourth, but a fielder's choice on a grounder finished the frame. In the seventh, with two outs, Bower was hit by a pitch, but again a fielder's choice ended the inning.Â
