BOX SCORE West Hartford, CT – Senior Jessica Mazzur (Dallastown, Pa./York Catholic) scored four goals and added an assist to help lead the Saint Francis lacrosse team (1-2) to its first victory of the season, 20-7, over Hartford on Monday afternoon.
Turning Point
The Red Flash closed out the first half on a 4-0 scoring run led by Mazzur, who netted two of the four goals, to give the Red Flash a 9-4 lead at the half. In the second half, Saint Francis picked up where it left off as freshman Emileigh Scott (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) opened things up with her fifth goal of the season. After Debbie Phillips of Hartford answered with a goal, the Red Flash put together a 9-0 scoring run to put things out of reach for the Hawks.
