BOX SCORE Loretto, Pa – The Saint Francis lacrosse team saw its second-half comeback fall short in a 12-10 loss to Longwood on Sunday to drop to 4-6 overall. Senior Sarah Mahon (Malverne, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) led the Red Flash with four goals to become just the fourth player in program history to reach 100 for her career. Senior Jessica Mazzur (Dallastown, Pa./York Catholic) added two goals.
Turning Point
Fischetti opened the scoring with a goal at 24:25 of the first half, but Kaitlin Luccarelli of Longwood evened things up shortly after at the 21:54 mark. Mahon broke the early stalemate and Longwood responded with three straight. Saint Francis would not take the lead for the rest of the game. In the second-half, the Lancers opened things up with another 3-0 run to take a 9-4 lead. Fischetti was able to make it a 10-8 game with 11:15 remaining in the second-half, but the Red Flash were unable to get any closer than two goals the rest of the way.
