Loretto, Pa. - The Saint Francis lacrosse team (4-8, 0-2 NEC) looks to earn their first win in conference play against Robert Morris (5-7, 1-1 NEC) on Friday, Apr. 13, at 3 p.m.
Scouting Robert Morris
The Colonials come into the weekend with five wins, one of which came in the conference-opening weekend. Roberts Morris dropped the conference opener to Wagner 9-12; but rolled past Mount St. Mary's 14-4, the same opponents the Red Flash played to an 0-2 record. Expect a tightly-contested affair as Saint Francis (10.75 goals per game) and Robert Morris (9.17 goals per game) rank four and six respectively in the conference in scoring. Saint Francis also ranks no. 2 in the conference in ground balls per game (23.92) followed by the Colonials (23.50). Whichever team can take better care of the ball may be the difference in Friday's contest, since Robert Morris ranks second in the conference in caused turnovers per game (11.50) and Saint Francis ranks third causing 10.67 per game. The goalkeeper's will be tested in Friday's showdown, as both teams excel in creating space and ripping shots on net. The Red Flash, who average 21.75 shots on goal per game, will test RMU's sophomore goalkeeper Katelyn Miller. Miller has saved 90 of the 256 shots she has faced this season. Conversely, Robert Morris averages 20.33 shots per game will face-off against SFU's junior goalkeeper Ashley Stoessel (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East). Stoessel has saved 106 of the 293 shots she faced, which is good enough for a .473 save percentage. Junior Sophia Eureka and senior Dana Davis lead the Colonials in scoring with 16 goals, four assists, and 20 points each.

Mazzur on a Mission
Senior Jessica Mazzur (Dallastown, Pa./York Catholic) scored two goals in Sunday's loss to Wagner to surpass the 30-goal mark for the first time in her career. Mazzur leads the Red Flash in scoring (33), assists (14), and points (47) this season. The senior ranks fourth in program history with 46 career assists.
Mahon making a Statement
After missing the first seven games of the season, senior Sarah Mahon (Malverne, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) is showing why she was ranked fourth all time in program history in career goals. In her five games back she has 13 goals and is averaging 2.60 per game. She is now only 16 goals away from passing former teammate Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus) and ranking third all-time in Saint Francis program history.
