BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Saint Francis Softball team scored a combined 31 runs and tallied 32 hits in a doubleheader sweep over LIU Brooklyn on Sunday. The Red Flash earned a 9-0, six-inning win in game one and exploded at the plate for a 22-4 win in game two. The Red Flash is now 24-17 overall and 6-0 in NEC play, while LIU Brooklyn dropped to 15-22 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

With the sweep, Saint Francis extended its NEC win streak to 25 games. It is currently the longest conference win streak in Division I.

Saint Francis' 22 runs in game two are a program record, topping a 21-1 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore in 1995. Â The 22 runs are tied for the fifth-most in a Division I game this season.

The 22 runs are the most scored in an NEC game since Bryant scored 26 against Wagner in 2011.

The 31 runs in the doubleheader is just one run short of SFU's doubleheader runs record of 32 vs. Seton Hill in 1988.Â

Abby Trahan (Kaplan, La./Kaplan) fired a complete-game shutout for her 17th win of the season. Trahan allowed six hits and just one walk, while striking out two.Â

LIU Brooklyn started senior Erynn Sobieski in the circle. She threw all six innings, giving up nine runs, six earned, on 15 hits. She struck out three and walked four batters.

Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) in the fourth inning extended SFU's lead to 4-0. After an infield single by Troxell to start the inning, McKee launched a ball over the wall in left for a two-run shot. It was McKee's second of the season.

The Red Flash drove in another run in the fifth inning. Following a one-out walk by Seneca, Troxell hit a double to the right field corner to allow Seneca to score from first and extend SFU's advantage to 5-0.

Saint Francis plated four runs in the sixth inning. Norton crushed a one-out triple to the wall in right center before a single through the right side by Cabell drove in Norton.Â
Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) then reached base as her fly ball to center was dropped. Seneca followed with a single to left to drive in pinch-runner
MeKenzie Saban (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills). A double to the wall in left by Hoover allowed
Mikayla Bower (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) and Seneca to score. The Red Flash held a 9-0 lead going to the bottom half of the inning.

Abby Trahan (Kaplan, La./Kaplan) picked up her 18th win of the season. She threw five innings, allowing a run on four hits, while striking out one and walking three.Â
Adrian Smith (Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) started the game and pitched to three batters before Trahan entered.

Haley Irvis started for the Blackbirds. In five innings, she gave up 19 runs, 15 earned, on 17 hits. She struck out five and walked nine. Victoria Lowe faced three batters, walking all three.

Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois), her sister was thrown out at home to save a run. However, Bower followed by blasting a pitch over the wall in center for a three-run dinger. It was Bower's seventh of the season.

The Blackbirds tied the game in the bottom of the first. After two walks and a single to start the inning, Zamora sent a single to left to score Katie Hinkle from third. Vazquez drove in two more runs on a single by Vazquez, which plated Cisneros and Griffin.

Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois). The junior crushed a ball over the wall in left for her third of the season.
