The Red Flash scored 16 or more runs in a game for the first time since a 16-5 win over Coppin State on February 14, 2015.

Saint Francis scored nine runs in the top of the sixth, a season high for runs in an inning.  The last time SFU scored nine or more runs in an inning was on April 23, 2016 in the 14-4 win over Bryant, when SFU scored 11 runs in the first inning, aided by five homers.

In game two, Madison Cabell (Ivor, Va./Southampton) hit two solo homers, adding to her three RBI triple in game one.  It marked the third two-homer game in Cabell's career.  The last came on April 13, 2016 at Pitt. The last two homer game at Saint Francis was by Jordan Seneca (Plum, Pa./Plum) on April 22, 2017 at Bryant.

With the win in game one, Head Coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift earned the 299th victory of her career.  Patrick-Swift also won her 206th game at Saint Francis.

Game 1
Sophomore Abby Trahan (Kaplan, La./Kaplan) started in the circle for the Red Flash.  She went five innings, giving up three runs on three hits, while striking out three and walking two.  Trahan didn't allow a hit after the first inning and allowed only three batters to reach base, on two walks and a hit-by-pitch.  Sophomore Adrian Smith (Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) threw the final inning, striking out one in a scoreless frame.

Kailee Williamson got the start for Marshall.  She went 3.1 innings, allowing six runs on four hits and seven walks, while striking out two.  Ali Burdette entered the game with one down in the fourth. Burdette threw 2.2 innings, giving up 10 runs on nine hits and two walks.

The Thundering Herd had three runs on three hits.  Aly Harrell led the offense with a three-run homer.  Wylie Glover and Jordan Colliflower each had a single and a run.

The Red Flash took an early lead in the top of the first.  Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) drew a walk to lead off the inning.  Norton then hit a grounder, which was misplayed by the second baseman for an error, to put runners on first and second.  Two batters later, Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) loaded the bases with a walk.  Bower then hit a groundball to the shortstop to drive in Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) from third.

Marshall answered with three runs in the bottom of the first.  After an infield single by Glover and a bunt single by Colliflower, Harrell sent the first pitch of her at-bat over the wall in left for a three-run homer.  Marshall led 3-1 after the first inning.

Saint Francis added four runs in the top of the second.  Troxell led off the inning with a walk before Jordan Frank (DuBois, Pa./DuBois Central Catholic) hit a liner off the pitcher's glove for an infield single.  A grounder by Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) resulted in a fielder's choice with everyone being safe to load the bases.  Norton then drew a walk to score pinch-runner Brittney Crawford (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon McMillan) from third.  Cabell followed by roping a 3-2 pitch to center for a bases-clearing triple.  Three runs scored to give SFU a 5-3 lead.

The Red Flash plated another run in the top of the third.  Back-to-back walks by Hoover and Troxell set up a sacrifice bunt by Frank to move the runners to second and third.  Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) followed with a grounder through the left side to allow Hoover to cross the plate.  SFU led 6-3 going to the bottom of the inning.

Saint Francis added a run in the top of the fifth.  Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) and Norton reached on back-to-back singles.  A flyout by Cabell moved McKee to third before Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) hit a sacrifice fly to right.  Cheyenne scored on the plate before Norton was doubled off first to end the inning, but SFU extended its lead 7-3.

The Red Flash sent 13 batters to the plate in a nine-run top of the sixth.  After a double by Bower, a walk by Seneca and an infield single on a bunt by Hoover, Troxell singled up the middle to drive in two runs.  After a sacrifice bunt by Frank, Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) was hit by a pitch and Norton drew a walk to score pinch-runner Halle Marion (Middletown, Pa./Middletown).  Two batters later, Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) sent an 0-1 pitch over the wall in left-center for a grand slam.  It was McKee's third grand slam of her career and SFU's second of the season.  Bower reached base for the second time in the inning on a single up the middle, followed by a double to the wall in right center by Seneca.  Hoover then roped a double off the wall in left to drive in Bower and Seneca.  The Red Flash held a 16-3 lead going to the bottom of the sixth.

Marshall took a two-run lead in the bottom of the first. Glover led off the inning with a triple to right-center.  Colliflower followed by dropping down a bunt just in front of home plate.  Glover moved to third before Colliflower took off for second to draw a throw and allow Glover to score.  Two batters later, Harrell hit a fly ball over the wall in left to extend the lead to 2-0.

The Red Flash cut the deficit in the top of the second.  Seneca drew a one-out walk.  With Hoover at the plate, Seneca stole second and then moved to third on a wild pitch.  Hoover then roped a hit to the wall in left center to drive in Seneca with a double.

Marshall added four runs in the bottom of the second. With two runners on, Glover lined a double to left-center to drive in Samantha Loose.  Two batters later, Taylor McCord hit a fly ball to center.  Eloise Tribolet scored on the sacrifice fly.  After a throw to the plate, a throw to try to cut down the runner at third sailed into the outfield to allow Glover and Colliflower to score.  The Red Flash trails 6-1 after two innings.
