Loretto, Pa – The Wagner Seahawks used a 5-0 run early and continued a 6-0 run to start the second half to defeat the Saint Francis women's lacrosse team (4-8, 0-2 NEC) 17-9 on Sunday.

Coach Concheck's Reaction

"We are still struggling to play a complete game on both ends. On Friday, we played well defensively and struggled in the attack, while today was the opposite. When it comes down to it we have to play tougher and compete harder for the 50/50 plays."

Turning Point

Sarah Mahon (Malverne, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) gave the Red Flash an early 3-2 advantage with 24:34 remaining in the first half, but the Seahawks responded with five straight goals. After Jessica Mazzur (Dallastown, Pa./York Catholic) ended Wagner's scoring run with her 30th goal of the season, the Seahawks strung together six unanswered goals, which put things out of reach for the Red Flash.

• Sarah Mahon (Malverne, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) led Saint Francis with three goals, an assist, and four points. Senior Jessica Mazzur (Dallastown, Pa./York Catholic) added two goals, two assists, and also had four points.

• Both, Morgan Day (New Park, Pa./Kennard Dale) and Emileigh Scott (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) added two goals to conclude scoring for the Red Flash.

• Eilis Hagan (Damascus, Md./Damascus) had a solid overall game with four draw controls, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
