Daniel Ford (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) has signed with Düren of the German Bundesliga. A 2017 Saint Francis graduate, Ford played his rookie season for Hurrikaani Loimaa in Finland, leading the squad to the finals of the Finnish Mestaruusliiga.
Ford was a three-year starter for the Red Flash and a two-time All-EIVA selection. He helped the Red Flash to reach back-to-back EIVA title matches. Over his career, Ford tallied over 2,700 assists, including a team-high 1,067 in his senior season. Ford ranked second in the EIVA in assists per set as a senior and third as a junior.
The Newtown, Pa. native will be the first American setter to play for Düren since the 2015-16 season. Düren finished fourth in the regular season of the German Budesliga and reached the quarterfinals of their playoffs.
