BOX SCORE Oxford, OH – The Saint Francis Red Flash field hockey team defeated Ball State 4-0 to pick-up the team's first victory of the season on Friday.
Turning Point
The Red Flash jumped out to an early advantage Friday afternoon scoring at the 13:38 mark. Freshman Atina Pagani (Concepcion Del Uruguay/Instituto Santa Teresito) struck first for Saint Francis scoring the first goal of the season and her first as a member of the Red Flash. In a span of three minutes, the Red Flash celebrated two more goals coming from Taylor Nesmith (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and Livvy Webb (Easton, Md./Saints Peter and Paul). Saint Francis closed out the first half strong defensively, preventing Ball State from taking a shot on goal and preserving the teams 3-0 advantage. The three goal lead proved to be enough as the Red Flash went on to defeat Ball State 4-0.
